Partner is seeking a full-time Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to work out of our Minneapolis, MN office.   The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience within the building sciences, specific to human health exposures and evaluations.



  • Surveys of asbestos, lead paint, PCB's, OHM's and indoor air quality testing.
  • Industrial hygiene investigations (e.g., ergonomic and indoor air quality) using industrial hygiene equipment and sampling techniques for standard chemical and physical hazards.
  • Perform and/or manage sampling and testing as required by the industrial hygiene program on such issues as asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality.
  • Evaluations of work environments and industrial processes (e.g., thermal stressors, noise, toxicology, biohazards, ergonomic) involving potentially hazardous environment conditions.
  • Analysis of findings to provide recommendations of corrective measures (e.g., non-engineering controls and engineering controls).
  • Develop and conduct training for organization and tenant agencies on industrial hygiene program topics.
  • Create reports on findings and recommend remediation steps (if applicable).
  • Build and manage client relationships
  • Preparation of technical scopes of work and fees for proposals.
  • Conduct cost estimates.
  • Work in field to execute and oversee work.
  • Preparation and review of Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Development and implementation of plans to ensure regional compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policy in the areas of industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health programs.
  • Manage requests for assistance from other offices and regions. This includes researching and providing recommendations on industrial hygiene program topics.



  • Specific experience in working with issues related to asbestos, lead based paint (including use of XRF), mold, and indoor air quality (IAQ) data collection is required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skill, and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Candidate must be very organized, detail oriented, and able to communicate efficiently.
  • Must be able to work autonomously, making judgment calls without guidance, and analyzing potentially dangerous situations.  
  • Must have sufficient skills in systems and quality control analysis, complex problem solving, and be able to troubleshoot complications as they emerge.




  • This position requires a degreed industrial hygienist with a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in industrial hygiene or in a related discipline of engineering, physical science, or life science.
  • Designation as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene
  • At least 8 years' experience working for an organization with responsibilities to develop, implement, and oversee industrial hygiene programs and policy. This includes experience in working with such programs as occupational and environmental health, covering complex problems in industrial, maintenance and building operations and/or research/development, testing, and evaluation procedures.



  • Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.
