SUMMARY
Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a full-time entry-level Staff Engineer or Scientist to support our Site Mitigation Team in our Torrance and Santa Ana, California offices to work on projects throughout the western United States with a focus on Southern California. The group focuses on site characterization, risk assessments, implementation of remedial actions, regulatory interaction, litigation support, and expert witness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting environmental samples and overseeing field investigations
- Organizing data and evaluating data through technical graphics (2D and 3D programs)
- Soil Gas Surveys
- Underground Storage Tank Removals
- Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
- Vapor Extraction Well Installation & System Installation and Operation
- Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent organizational skills and time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Experience with MS Project, CAD and Corel draw are a plus
- Capable of conducting site reconnaissance
- Knowledge of data compilation and organization
- Knowledge of California environmental regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum - Bachelor Degree from accredited university in geology, engineering, or environmental sciences. Background in chemistry a plus.
- Relevant Master’s Degree is a plus
- Current 40 hour HAZWOPER training a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, and standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.
