Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is looking for a Director of Engineering Services in our Santa Ana office to manage existing operations, expand our client base, and maximize profitability.  The successful candidate will have an existing book of business along with a demonstrated ability to profitably manage similar operations. 


  • Manage Civil, Structural,and Environmental Remediation Practices to provide best-in-class services
    • Build and manage high-performance teams
    • Assure on-time, on-budget completion of staff assignments
    • Take accountability for billings and accounts receivable
    • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with prospective customers
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow the practice
  • Maintain personal sales
    • Solutions services of $1,000,000 or more
    • Cross-sell additional services as determined
  • Support additional sales efforts
    • Prepare proposals collaboratively with engineering team and oversee proposal communication and negotiation with clients
    • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with prospective customers; Gain knowledge, insight and understanding from key decision-makers regarding client’s energy needs/challenges; Identify strategies and product types that address client’s needs
    • Develop a strong presence with clients in the engineering community; Represent the company at tradeshows and conferences, attend industry-specific networking events, and contribute to blog postings and other company marketing efforts
    • Support both the Partner staff and the Clients by meeting with Clients on a regular basis
    • Strategize with and support the other members of team to cohesively market all Partner services
    • Stay current on the requirements of various financial products, legislative updates, utility incentives, and municipal initiatives that affect our business and communicate that information both internally and externally


  • Appropriate engineering registrations
  • Existing annual accounts of $2,000,000 or more
  • Ten+ years in the industry
  • Five+ years of successful management experience.
  • PE or PLS is a PLUS

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Existing relationships with key commercial clients
  • Excellent communication skills - written, spoken, and listening - with ability to explain and interpret complex issues clearly
  • High energy, drive, and ambition
  • Proven track record of superior client service and practice management
  • Complex sales and relationship-based selling experience in civil and survey industries
  • Ability to manage and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading from printed sources and computer screen
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, and sitting
