Project Scientist- ENV Remediation 657 CLOSED



Partner is seeking a full-time Project Scientist to support our Environmental Remediation Team in our NYC, Manhattan office (5 boroughs) to work on projects throughout the eastern United States. The group focuses on site characterization, risk assessments, implementation of remedial actions, regulatory interaction, litigation support and expert witness.



  • Coordination of field events
  • Collecting environmental samples and overseeing field investigations (soil, groundwater, and air)
  • Soil Gas Surveys
  • Underground Storage Tank Removal Oversight
  • Excavation and Soil Disposal Oversight
  • Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation Oversight
  • Vapor Extraction Well Installation Oversight
  • Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling
  • Support to Project Managers
  • Operation and Maintenance of Remedial Systems
  • Subcontractor Management
  • Regulatory Report Writing
  • Data Entry and Interpretation
  • Workplan Preparation          




  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Willingness to learn data management computer programs
  • Capable of conducting site reconnaissance
  • Knowledge of data compilation and organization
  • Knowledge of New Jersey environmental regulations
  • Experience in New York City with various agencies (OER, DEC, DEP)
  • Experience with Brownfields projects




  • Minimum of 3-5yrs of experience  
  • Bachelor Degree from accredited university in geology, engineering, or environmental sciences. Background in chemistry a plus.
  • Relevant Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Current 40 hour HAZWOPER training a plus



  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, and standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.
  • Required frequent travel in the tristate area (CT, NJ, NY) and possibly limited travel in other Northeast states
