Staff Engineer/Scientist- Site Mitigation 662, 663 CLOSED



Partner is seeking a full time Sr. Staff Engineer / Scientist in our Torrance or Santa Ana, California offices to perform project responsibilities including planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget in our expanding Site Mitigation group. Projects are located throughout the western United States with a focus on California.



  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Perform Phase III / Site Characterization field work including boring advancement, sample collection, well installation, etc.
  • Performing operation & maintenance on treatment systems.
  • Manage groundwater sampling programs and reporting.
  • Synthesize data.
  • Write reports.
  • Perform multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Partner team members and the Client to successfully deliver a quality product on time.



  • Maintain communication with team members throughout the course of the project.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress is on schedule.
  • Provide project recommendations and solutions to Project Managers.
  • Identify and resolve issues with projects.
  • Deliver appropriate progress reports (verbally or e-mail) including recommendations to the Project Managers.
  • Schedule appropriate subcontractors and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Flexibility to respond to requests for changes in project scope.
  • Work collaboratively on report preparation.  



  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external).
  • Experience investigating petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvent impacted sites.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team.
  • Remedial system design and implantation experience a plus.



  • Bachelor Degree from accredited university in biological/physical sciences or engineering discipline.
  • Post degree in an earth science or engineering discipline is a plus.
  • Current 40 hour HAZWOPER training a plus.
  • 1-4 years relevant experience in environmental or engineering consulting.
