Mike Milano

Mr. Milano is a Project Manager for Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. (Partner) and is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has eight years of experience in the environmental, industrial hygiene, and construction industries. Specifically, Mr. Milano has significant experience with asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold consulting and several years of his experience are solely in environmental due diligence, subsurface investigation, and remediation.

Industrial Hygiene

Mr. Milano is well versed in asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold consulting. He is accredited in several states to provide asbestos and lead-based paint services including being a Registered Asbestos Training Provider in the state of Louisiana. Mr. Milano has extensive experience assessing buildings for asbestos, lead-based paint, and/or mold. He has also overseen the abatement and remediation of contaminated building materials and has developed several abatement designs including waste stream compliance for hazardous materials and universal waste (PCB, lead-acid batteries, mercury, antifreeze, petroleum products, etc.). Mr. Milano is also capable of developing asbestos management plans, implementing programs for safe in-place management of asbestos-containing materials, and training employees who may work with or around these materials. Additionally, Mr. Milano lead a phase contrast microscopy (PCM) laboratory and NIOSH 582 analysts accredited by the AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing program.

Environmental Due Diligence

Mr. Milano has several years of experience in environmental due diligence including Phase I ESAs, Transaction Screenings, and HUD Part 58 Environmental Assessments. Furthermore, Mr. Milano’s due diligence experience spans a large range of property types including: commercial, residential single and multi-family, industrial, medical, automotive, urban and rural settings.

Subsurface Investigation

Mr. Milano has managed and lead the field services for several subsurface investigation projects including not only soil and groundwater sample collection, but also the installation of both temporary and permanent monitoring wells, the delineation of contaminants, and the installation and sampling of soil gas wells.

Remediation and UST Closure

Mr. Milano has been involved in numerous soil remediation projects in Louisiana starting with the development of corrective action plans all the way to regulatory closure. Mr. Milano has worked closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and transparency. Mr. Milano has assisted in groundwater remediation projects utilizing both active and inactive remediation techniques. He has also been the lead on several underground storage tank removal projects and assisted clients in registering tanks and achieving regulatory closure.

Construction QA/QC

Mr. Milano has several years of experience has a construction quality assurance / quality control project manager. Mr. Milano has worked closely with contractor’s engineers, architects, and owners to ensure that his projects are completed as specified and designed. As a project manager, Mr. Milano has a wealth of experience with earthwork, deep foundations, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, masonry, glazing, building envelope, roofing, fireproofing, vibration analysis and monitoring, structural inspections and flaw monitoring.

Vapor Mitigation Systems

Mr. Milano’s construction and environmental experience meet at the installation oversight of Vapor Mitigation Systems during the construction phase. Ultimately, Mr. Milano’s data collection and oversight assist clients in obtaining manufacturer’s warranties for their products.
