Torrance, CA/Eatontown, NJ—Partner Engineering and Science, Inc., a national environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in Torrance, CA with a regional headquarters in Eatontown, New Jersey, has a significant hire in the Land Development Group of its New Jersey engineering, design and consulting practice – which expanded significantly with the firm’s recent acquisition of the assets of Birdsall Services Group.
The selection of Adam M. Alexander, LLA, ASLA, as Project Manager of Landscape Architecture will greatly enhance the firm’s services in Land Development Engineering – a practice crucial to meeting the needs of New Jersey and the Northeast Region.
The team will work with private and public entities on a variety of development projects, with a special focus on engineering solutions for urban land and coastal ecosystems prevalent in New Jersey and the Northeast.
“Adam’s vast experience in major development projects makes him an important addition to our team in New Jersey,” said Joseph Derhake, PE, president of Partner. “We are thrilled to bring him on board during our firm’s continued expansion into the Northeast region, and particularly as we grow the services of our engineering, design and consulting team.”
As Project Manager and a Licensed Landscape Architect, Alexander will focus on Landscape Architecture projects from concept design through construction administration, including project management, proposal development, preparation of programs, conceptual solutions, illustrative drawings, cost estimates, and final design production.
Alexander has a broad range of private and public sector experience in over 15 years of practice, collaborating in the design, planning, and project management of hundreds of public facility projects in the N.J., N.Y. and P.A. region. His diverse experience includes the design of athletic and synthetic field facilities, streetscapes, urban parks, and playgrounds, brown field redevelopment, and commercial, corporate and institutional site development projects. A few highlights of Alexander’s experience include providing professional design services for Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J., which include the iconic Cherry Tree Demonstration and historic architectural features; serving as Landscape Architect for waterfront revitalization in Asbury Park, N.J.; and the redevelopment of approximately 100 acres of a Brownfield, including pedestrian trails, an integral bike path network, a light rail extension, plaza nodes, and a boardwalk, along the waterfront in Jersey City, N.J.
“It’s rewarding to see our communities benefit from landscapes and spaces that are innovative, sustainable and environmental responsible,” said Alexander. “I’m excited to add my experience to the Partner team.”
Alexander is a graduate of West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He most recently worked as a Senior Landscape Architect and Lead Designer for an international engineering firm, CHA in Parsippany, N.J.
Alexander previously worked at Schoor DePalma/CMX, portions of which were later acquired by the former Birdsall Services Group. As such, they already have a longstanding working relationship with many of the current personnel at Partner.
