About the Project

Partner professionals designed the HVAC, electric, plumbing and fire protection systems for a new 124,000 sf cancer center adjacent to the existing Cooper University Hospital campus.

This cancer center will be housed in the first four floors. The building design allows for the future construction of six additional floors to house complementary health care functions. The Cancer Center will house radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging, cancer treatment areas, patient support, administrative and support areas over the four floors. The future six upper floors will house medical labs, offices and/ or nursing facilities. Partner professionals designed the infrastructure for this additional 132,000 sf to support these future planned occupants. The building is designed utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.

Partner professionals employed the Revit MEP software to provide major MEP components in the model. The project team will leverage BIM to optimize the building design to minimize both the construction cost and schedule. The design will also incorporate sustainable systems, features, and materials. Cooper University Hospital’s goal is to achieve the USGBC LEED Silver rating for the Cancer Center building. Partner professionals provided support to facilitate the achievement of the MEP related LEED points, as determined at the onset of the project.
