COVID-19 Response Cleaning Verification

About the Project

Partner was engaged to establish and evaluate a cleaning verification process for a public-school campus in South Florida. This request was in response to the concerns over the potential presence of COVID-19 within several buildings on the school campus. The School District was notified that a student tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes COVID-19).

Partner, in consultation with the School District, developed and implemented a cleaning verification protocol to be used during the cleaning of contact surfaces within the school.

A contractor was hired by the School District to clean and disinfect surfaces throughout multiple buildings and modular (portable) units on the school campus. Partner’s team, consisting of Project Managers and a Certified Indoor Environmentalist, was deployed to conduct the verification monitoring utilizing ATP test swabs analyzed via 3M Luminometer as well as observing the overall cleaning and disinfection process.

Post-cleaning and post-disinfectant sample results were utilized to advise the School District as to which critical surfaces needed continuing cleaning practices. The majority of surfaces met the established criteria for effectiveness and after minimal re-cleaning of specified surfaces, all work surfaces passed the clearance criteria and campus was reopened.
