About the Project

Partner professionals responded to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDOH) complaint in regards to confirmed cases of Legionaries’ Disease within this hotel and casino. As part of the project, an initial inspection of the water system was completed, which included bulk water sampling and visual investigation.

The analytical data confirmed the absence of Legionella Bacteria. However, the NJDOH was concerned about the potential for Legionella bacteria to grow within the water systems. As a result, we developed a Best Practices Plan to aid in maintenance of the water system to help eliminate the potential for Legionella growth.
