2011 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys

The standard that governs the land title survey requirements is the 2011 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys. The Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/ACSM surveys includes mandatory or “minimum” requirements to be included on the survey, as well as 21 optional items listed in “Table A Optional Survey Responsibilities and Specifications.” The Minimum Standard Detail Requirements were first published in 1962 jointly by the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), and have undergone several revisions from 1988 to 2005 and most recently in 2011.

The 2011 update of the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements had numerous revisions, including a significant change to the certification language allowed. Other changes include records review requirements, plat requirements, and Table A Optional Items.
