Industry Pioneer Robert W. Barone, R.A., LEED AP, Joins Partner

Brings Nearly 40 Years of Construction and Due Diligence Expertise

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is pleased to welcome industry veteran Robert W. Barone, R.A., LEED AP as Director out of Partner’s White Plains, NY office.  A highly respected figure, Barone was a key pioneer in the establishment of sound due diligence and construction risk management practices for commercial real estate.  Barone’s deep expertise will substantially contribute to Partner’s successful Construction Services practice serving institutional investors, lenders, and other stakeholders nationwide.

Over his almost 40-year career in commercial real estate, Barone has made a significant mark on the due diligence industry.  As chair or co-chair for various ASTM International committees, he helped develop standards to shape how due diligence is performed for commercial real estate, including the formation of the Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments, and guidelines for the mold and moisture survey process.  Barone has also prepared and/or contributed to the preparation of the Property Condition Assessment and Construction Risk Management guidelines for various lending and investment institutions. 

During his tenure at IVI International (now CBRE Assessment & Consulting Services), he was instrumental in growing that firm from a 6-person consultancy to a staff of over 250 employees.  With Barone at the helm, his former firm’s construction group regularly managed more than 400 active construction or renovation projects each month.  Barone has personally facilitated thousands of real estate transactions and development projects throughout North America and Europe.  His expertise includes consulting on a wide range of projects in the commercial and residential areas, with a strong concentration in complex mixed-use projects.  He is a sought-after expert for reviewing development proposals and providing construction consulting services for equity investors, major lending institutions, and foreign governments.
