San Francisco Vacant Commercial Storefront Ordinance (Ordinance 52-19) 

This ordinance requires property owners to register vacant commercial storefronts within 30 days of vacancy and annually thereafter if the property remains vacant. The aim is to maintain the aesthetic and economic vitality of commercial corridors by ensuring vacant properties are properly maintained. 

Owners must adhere to inspection, maintenance, and signage requirements as specified by the Department of Building Inspection. Failure to comply can result in significant fines and potential designation of the property as blighted.
