Torrance, CA—Partner’s president Joe Derhake, PE has been nominated for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award! We might be a little biased here, but we think Joe is an excellent candidate, not only due to his successful leadership of Partner from a start up with eight founding employees into an industry-leading firm with over 500 staff, but also because he is passionate about sharing and nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit. An integral part of the culture at Partner is an idea Joe likes to call “intrapreneurship,” granting employees equity and scalable pay and supporting them to develop and run new business lines within the company with a lot less risk. Several of Partner’s business lines were created out of just such an entrepreneurial venture.
Though he would point back to many others in the company who have undoubtedly made Partner a great place to be, the impact of Joe’s leadership, values and intrepid spirit on the company can’t be denied, and for that we say thank you. So if anyone from Ernst & Young is reading this, you know our vote! It is an honor just to be nominated, so congratulations to our fearless entrepreneurial leader and good luck!
