Torrance, CA—Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. has hired mapping, surveying, and engineering expert Christopher Daniels, PLS, as the director of surveying and mapping for the West Coast. A licensed professional land surveyor in the states of California, Nevada, and Arizona, Daniels has extensive experience across the spectrum of mapping and surveying projects.
“Daniels has been involved in some pivotal projects, most recently in the Los Angeles Metro Link and the North Hollywood tunneling project, and will be a vital addition to the Partner team,” said Partner President Joseph Derhake, PE. “He has worked on everything from parking garages to the Edwards Air Force Base. He has the skills and experience that will exponentially expand our reach in the surveying and mapping department, especially as developers are getting busy again and construction staking and field surveying services will be in high demand.”
“Daniels has previously worked on a variety of commercial, industrial, municipal and multifamily projects across North and South America. Daniels previously held the same position of director of survey and mapping at Plump Engineering, Inc.
With his considerable experience in settlement, subsidence, and monitoring surveys, Daniels can obtain accuracies to 0.001 of a foot when using electronic instruments and digital leveling to determine horizontal and vertical movement of buildings, walls, dams and land fill areas.

Daniels will be responsible for field and office survey functions, quality control and coordination with clients, architects, contractors, and public agencies.
Daniels is a licensed professional land surveyor in California, Nevada, and Arizona and is a member of the Land Surveyor Association in California, and the Nevada Land Surveyors Association.
