Philip Luke, P.E., S.E., is a Senior Engineer for the Seismic practice at Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. He is both a Professional Structural Engineer and a Professional Civil Engineer for the state of California. He has an extensive background in structural assessment and forensic engineering and over 40 years of experience. Currently, Luke’s role involves performing SB721 balcony inspections and special structural projects throughout Northern California.
Luke has performed over 1,000 structural evaluations for a diverse client base including attorneys and insurance companies. Additionally, he has been involved in a wide range of projects on various facility types, including high-rise buildings in San Francisco, industrial facilities, sports complexes, and water treatment plants.
Over his professional structural engineering career, Luke had acquired a diverse and well-rounded design and evaluation experience of over 1,000 structures in the San Francisco Bay Area, encompassing buildings of various types and configurations. These buildings included mixed-used steel and concrete high-rise commercial offices and residential condominiums, industrial manufacturing facilities, sports complexes, water treatment structures, schools and higher education facilities, hospitals, and real estate portfolios for city and county. One of Mr. Luke’s career highlights for the recent years was working with insurance companies and attorneys to conduct forensic engineering assessment for each reported loss to determine cause and origin of the damage. He also assisted in restoring buildings to their pre-damage condition.
