Partner Engineering and Science, Inc., is pleased to announce the addition of Doug Knight as Technical Director of Equity PCA Group in our Building Sciences Division. Knight, a well-rounded expert with over 35 years of technical and leadership experience in the AEC industry, will join our specialized Equity Property Condition Assessment (PCA) team.
In his new role, Knight will oversee the scoping, execution, and delivery of customized PCAs designed to meet the risk management and planning needs of Partner’s equity clients. He will leverage Partner’s in-house, multidisciplinary experts to build the teams of specialists typically required to gather the depth and quality of data that equity real estate investors demand.
“I’m looking forward to having a really deep and diverse bench of in-house resources,” said Knight. “My clients expect comprehensive, turnkey solutions. Having the full range of specialists on staff at Partner means I can have one, cohesive team that works together and delivers quality results.” Knight is also excited about Partner’s tech-forward approach. “The technology here is head and shoulders above the rest of the industry—Partner has brought due diligence into the 21st century.”
Knight’s career experience spans environmental assessments, property condition assessments, climate resiliency/ESG, and construction-related services in support of commercial real estate (CRE). He has led thousands of projects throughout the United States and overseas, serving client types from Fortune 500 companies to REITs, institutional investors, life insurance companies, national and regional banks, attorneys, healthcare, and all levels of government. Most recently, Knight served as national director for equity services at an environmental and engineering consulting firm, supporting the acquisition process of varied asset classes including multifamily, medical office, senior housing, student housing, retail, industrial, and office. He also served as a thought leader for climate resiliency and ESG program development, California’s SB-721 technical direction, and PFAS program creation.
Partner Managing Principal Steve Kitzke notes that Knight’s background will be particularly valuable to the Equity PCA practice. “Doug knows PCAs; there’s no question about that. But the fact that he also knows environmental, ESG, and construction means he can offer the big-picture perspective that our institutional clients need. When you’re working with complex, high-profile assets, you need to consider all angles of risk exposure. Doug is a skilled generalist that can look at a property from a top-down perspective and recognize where the exposure may be and where we need to dive deeper. He’ll know how to scope and staff each project to bring the best results for our clients.”
Some of Knight’s most memorable equity PCA projects include a three-building, nine-story 280,000 sf office complex Milwaukee and a nine-building, million-sf entertainment complex in Dallas, Texas.
Knight will operate from Louisville, Kentucky and support clients and projects worldwide.
