Partner Acquires Nevada Construction Services

By Partner ESI

SUPPORTS PARTNER’S CONTINUED EXPANSION OF NEVADA-BASED CONSTRUCTION AND DUE DILIGENCE EXPERTISE

TORRANCE, CA – May 15, 2018 – Partner Engineering and Science Inc. (Partner), a national engineering, environmental and energy consulting and design firm headquartered in Torrance, California, has acquired Nevada Construction Services, a construction risk management company, which further expands and grows Partner’s presence in Nevada. Partner will retain 100% of NCS’s employees, who will continue working under the NCS brand and operations.

“NCS is the market leader in Funds Control and Construction Progress Monitoring in Nevada and adding their talented team to our roster of construction professionals will allow us to offer clients even better construction risk management services,” said Joseph P. Derhake, CEO of Partner.

NCS, a 32-year-old company, serves construction lenders, real estate owners and developers with Construction Inspections, Funds Control and Disbursement services throughout Nevada and abutting states. Most recently, NCS has provided their services on notable projects throughout the Las Vegas valley including the Las Vegas Knights Practice Facility, the Fremont Street Experience zipline, “Slotzilla”, and many retailers and entertainment venues at Downtown Summerlin, such as The Linq, Fashion Show Mall, The Crystals at City Center, Caesar’s Palace, Cowabunga Bay Waterpark, and The Summit just to name a few. The addition of NCS’s expertise to Partner’s portfolio will substantially strengthen its capacity to provide these services, particularly in the State of Nevada, where Funds Control is strictly regulated.

“Nevada learned valuable construction risk management lessons through the Great Recession and subsequent booming recovery,” Derhake commented. Following the unprecedented commercial real estate losses, the state implemented mandatory proactive measures to prevent the physical damage and financial peril of a construction default. “NCS specializes in compliance with Nevada’s risk management safeguards, which are a scalable, exportable product that can greatly benefit the rest of the country,” Derhake continued.

The merger will also bolster NCS’s risk management capabilities by incorporating Partner’s talented pool of architects and construction managers, who can assist in further facilitating Document Cost Reviews and Budget Cost Reviews.  Partner also offers comprehensive Construction Completion Commitment services, an interesting alternative to a surety bond, as well as the ability to automate lenders’ processes with its award winning SiteLynx software.  To further grow their acquisition, Partner plans to hire local construction, architectural, engineering and environmental professionals for the Nevada offices.

Anne Dwyer, president of Nevada Construction Services, remarked: “It’s an exciting union, bringing our complementary strengths to better serve our clients. It is a great opportunity to tap into the additional resources that Partner has to offer while at the same time retaining the NCS brand. We’re excited to be on the Partner team!”

Partner currently offers a substantial presence in Nevada’s robust commercial real estate sector, and offer a large menu of due diligence services, including Property Condition Assessments, ALTA surveys, and market-leading Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. The company has been actively expanding its construction risk management services throughout the country.
