Partner was engaged by a leading renewable energy lender to perform Independent Engineering, Construction Risk Management, and Environmental Consulting services for a 6.0 MWdc / 4.0 MWac ground-mounted solar installation on a 27-acre former landfill in Kings Park, Long Island, New York. The system utilizes 18,360 Recom solar panels, 68 ABB inverters, and is mounted to a Gamechange Solar fixed-tilt poured-in-place-concrete ballasted racking system with a 20° tilt.

The site was used as a municipal landfill from 1970 to 1979 and was developed as a golf course in 1999. The solar project was completed in 2019 and sells its power to the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Over that time, it is estimated to generate over $800,000 in lease revenue to the town while offsetting 4,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide. The solar project will be powering approximately 1,000 LIPA residences annually.

Partner’s Independent Engineering Report, which included a Document and Cost Review and Site Inspection, reviewed the site adequacy, key equipment, project designs, solar resource, electric energy production, project costs, schedule and terms in the major project agreements. In addition, Partner provided a Phase I ESA Peer Review and Database Regulatory Review report for the subject property.
