Malvern, PA — May 2017 — Since joining Partner Engineering and Science, Inc.’s (Partner) Construction Services Group a little over 6 months ago, C. Gage Kellogg has excelled managing numerous major clients and projects. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and 10 years in renewable energy project development, financing, and construction, Kellogg has a deep understanding of clients’ construction budgets and how imperative it is to keep payments in line.
Kellogg has been focusing on operational initiatives to increase efficiency throughout the company. These tasks include the standardizing and automating of proposals, operations manuals, and developing proprietary CPM and funds control systems. In order to expand his understanding of all the stages and roles of each project, Kellogg has put his boots on the ground and aids as an assessor, a project manager, and relationship manager.
“Fulfilling multiple roles has given me insights into the entire business process here at Partner as well as the full scope of products and services we offer clients,” said Kellogg.
For instance, Kellogg has been working closely with the 1st Constitution Bank in New Jersey on multiple hospitality projects. The first of these larger projects is for the 100-room, four-story Hampton Inn & Suites in Warrington, Pennsylvania, which has an $8.3 million construction budget. Kellogg was engaged to handle the comprehensive Construction Risk Management (CRM) program and Completion Commitment. He was also overseeing a 72-room, seven-story Bronx Hotel with a $7.25 million budget for construction and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). Scopes for this project included Construction Progress Monitoring reports (CPM), Contractor Evaluation (CE) Services, Pay Application Reviews (Funds Control) and Document Cost Reviews (DCR).
Partner’s Technical Director of Construction Services, Brian Ward, stated, “Gage’s vast knowledge and experience in both the general construction industry and the renewable energy sector further complement that array of talent Partner has amassed, expanding Partner’s one-stop shop offerings for its clients”.
Earlier this month Kellogg demonstrated just that. He was the key player in being awarded the Independent Engineer (IE) and Construction Risk Management (CRM) service provider for a major national lender on a portfolio of 11 utility scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects located across the country. The portfolio consists of 9 separate 3 Megawatt peak capacity (MWp) projects in Oregon, a 5.6 MWp project in Indiana, and a 7.3 MWp project in South Carolina. Partner will provide comprehensive due diligence reporting as well as construction risk management oversight and services to include site inspections and funds control.
In addition to being highly involved in high-profile CRM projects, Kellogg has been attending and contributing to each of Partner’s Construction Lenders Risk Management (CLRM) roundtables. During the last CLRM roundtable in La Jolla, California, Kellogg gave a presentation on construction completion commitments amongst a peer group of construction lenders in the banking industry, aiding in the collaboration, learning, and facilitation of real conversations. As Kellogg starts to approach his one year at Partner, you can expect to see him attending more external conferences throughout the East Coast to ramp up the sales process for the second half of the year.
Kellogg graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management and Fundamentals of Construction.
