TORRANCE, CA – August 3, 2022 – Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. (Partner) is pleased to welcome industry veteran, Jason Coray, PE, SE, SECB as Technical Director of the Seismic Practice based in the San Francisco Bay Area. With over 30 years of structural engineering experience, Jason is well known in the commercial and institutional real estate investment and development communities.
“Jason is a big name in the seismic and structural space,” said Partner CEO Joe Derhake. “He is especially well known for institutional clients.”
Jason brings an extensive outlook and wide range of knowledge including infusing both entrepreneurship and innovation into construction and commercial real estate, and both defining and refining the policies and optimal procedures that structural and architectural-engineering consultants use to achieve continued success. Specifically, he is intimately involved in two key ASTM subcommittees governing how the commercial real estate industry addresses seismic risk (ASTM E2026 and E2557 Standards) as well as property resilience assessment.
Prior to joining Partner, Jason worked for a major A/E/C firms analyzing structural and seismic issues and
providing solutions to facilitate commercial property design, transactions, and ownership. Moreover, Jason worked for H.J. Brunnier Associates and Marx|Okubo performing resource management, planning, research and development, project management, as well as the design of new and modified industrial, commercial, public (including schools and hospitals), and residential structures, world-wide, the majority of which are in high
seismic or wind zones.
Some of Jason’s notable projects include providing structural design and/or consulting for: The Ferry Building, Embarcadero Center and Facebook Headquarter Campus in Northern California; Amazon Headquarters and PacWest Center in Pacific Northwest; and Citigroup and Howard Hughes Centers in Southern California.

Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and he has a Certificate in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a licensed structural engineer in California, Hawaii, and Washington State; a member of the ASTM E06-25 Committee responsible for developing seismic risk assessment and probable maximum loss (PML) standards; and a technical advisory board and Certification Committee member of the of the U.S. Resiliency Council.
