Partner Engineering and Science is pleased to announce that CFO Marc Goldberg has been nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) 2024 Chief Financial Officer of the Year.
Each year, LABJ recognizes the great accomplishments of the region’s most innovative and impactful financial executives, as well as their contributions to our Community of Business in several award categories. It is an honor to be recognized among this esteemed community, and Marc is certainly worthy of that honor as he has played a pivotal and strategic role in Partner’s growth for the past 9 years.
Marc’s finance career spans more than two decades, beginning as an analyst at Lehman Brothers, where he focused on business services as well as the paper and forest industries. He then transitioned to TCW/Crescent Mezzanine LLC as an Associate, specializing in analyzing and structuring investments. At The Walt Disney Company, Marc managed foreign exchange exposure and developed hedging strategies. His career progressed at Parsons Corporation, where he advanced from managing treasury operations to becoming Vice President of Finance, overseeing financial forecasting, planning, and reporting for a business unit generating over $1 billion in revenue.
Since joining Partner, Marc has helped steer the company through unprecedented challenges, improve reporting and risk management, and successfully navigate acquisitions and the establishment of substantial new business lines. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Marc demonstrated exceptional leadership, employing scenario planning to maintain liquidity and transparency. His efforts reinforced Partner’s position as a leader in transactional due diligence and commercial real estate solutions.
Marc’s contributions to the Finance Team at Partner include streamlining financial reporting, enhancing accounting operations, and mitigating risks during regional banking failures. His push for data-driven insights through Power BI has transformed decision-making processes, empowering executives and employees alike.
In addition, Marc played a key role in founding Partner Valuation Advisors, an affiliate company of Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. which grew into an 89-person national appraisal firm, far exceeding projections. His strategic leadership continues to drive the expansion of services and footprint across the US, ensuring controlled and measured growth to meet client expectations.
Marc and his wife Nina are dedicated to combating poverty through education. They actively support Determined to Succeed, a local organization helping students from Hamilton High School access and succeed in college. Since 2019, they have funded a scholarship for college-bound students, making a significant impact on their futures.
Marc has also mentored several Partner employees. Most recently, he mentored Kelly Javier, Director of Marketing Operations, who graduated with an MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School and received the prestigious George Award for outstanding fully employed student.
Congratulations to Marc on this well-deserved recognition!
