Partner Establishing Permanent Presence In Hawaii

By Partner ESI

Torrance, CA/Honolulu, HI—Partner Engineering and Science Inc. (Partner), a national environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in Torrance, California, is establishing a permanent presence in Hawaii with the relocation of Ruth Park, Associate AIA. Ms. Park has more than 13 years of industry experience providing due diligence assessments for residential, hospitality, commercial and industrial property types, and will serve as Partner’s point of contact for this region.

Partner has long been doing work in Hawaii and is now establishing a permanent office. From here, the local team will continue to serve and expand its client base in the area to offer full-service due diligence and design services in support of real estate transactions and ownership.

“Hawaii has always been a strong market for us but hard to service from the mainland.  Our construction business in Hawaii is robust, as is our due diligence business. Having a permanent office in Hawaii will be a differentiator between us and our competition” said Joseph Derhake, PE, president of Partner.

Partner has supported the transaction and development of several major projects and has enjoyed a thriving environmental practice in Hawaii. Capitalizing on Ms. Park’s cross-functional environmental training, she will play a critical role in building the firm’s engineering practice in the state, including Property Condition Assessments (PCAs)Accessibility SurveysConstruction Risk Management (CRM) services and design services for real estate investors and lenders alike.

“I am excited to be spearheading Partner’s already rapidly-expanding business operations in Hawaii,” Ms. Park remarked. “Knowing the local geography, regulatory processes and policies is critical in providing expedited and accurate services. Partner having boots on the ground in Hawaii, ready to go, will really help us achieve these goals. And who could complain about moving to one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.!!”

Ms. Park has supported the transaction or development of many high-profile portfolios and properties in her career, including the San Francisco State Performing Arts Center, The LeMay Car Museum, One Santa Fe Development, and US Bank Tower. She has completed the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) Intern Development Program and will be applying to become a candidate for Architectural Licensure with the Hawaii Architect Board.
