Every state along the East Coast, from Maine to South Carolina, has set a goal or mandate for obtaining a portion of its electricity from renewables. However, with land availability at a premium, being able to harness the faster and more reliable wind speeds from sea will be an important part of achieving that goal. A growing source of that energy is offshore wind. “To meet the renewable energy goals that these states have out there, you need big projects,” I said to business finance outlet Cheddar, in a recent article entitled “The Next Wind Energy Boom: Offshore.”
