Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Construction Lenders Risk Management Journal! Over the last 6 year, the CLRM Roundtable has continually expanded the space exchanging ideas and concerns about construction risk management practices – in person via our national and regional meetings, online via webinars and a LinkedIn forum, and now in print.
With over $1 Trillion invested in private construction in 2018, commercial real estate development plays a significant role in the US economy. Reducing risks of project failure or default matters not just to the success of each member’s portfolios, but to the U.S. economy at large. In the 2019 edition of the Journal, we’ve collected insights from the CLRM community concerning the market, construction costs, regulatory updates, risk management and other hot topics.
