Geotechnical Investigations

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. provides geotechnical investigations.

The geotechnical investigation is one of the first steps in the new development process and can be critical in planning property enhancements or completing detailed Property Condition Assessments. Partner can provide geotechnical investigations, consulting services and coordinate the undertaking of geotechnical exploration during any project phase. With a national network of highly qualified engineers, Partner delivers targeted, cost-effective geotechnical solutions to our clients around the country.

Our geotechnical investigation team performs site background review of data such as geologic mapping and aerial photographs, as well as field services such as utility clearance, coordination with site representatives, logging of borings and collecting soil samples for laboratory analysis. Proper planning and field execution are critical to the delivery of sound and cost-effective building design.

Partner’s engineers and geologists use small-diameter and large-diameter borings, backhoe excavations, CPT soundings, continuous core rigs, air-track drill rigs, and laboratory analysis to understand the load bearing capacity of soil. We prepare soil reports and make appropriate geotechnical recommendations for foundations, slabs, pavements, etc.

Our geotechnical investigation team support projects after the soils report by providing:

  • geotechnical expert witness services
  • response to building department reviews
  • addendums for changes
  • foundation plan review/signature
  • construction services such as observation, compaction testing, and footing inspections.
