Since 2016, Brett Hayes, PE, has provided engineering leadership at Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. (Partner) in the Chicago region and is currently a Principal & National Client Manager. Brett is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Virginia and Illinois.
In his current role, Brett, an Engineering, Facilities, and Asset Management consultant, collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team in Chicago and from Partner’s 45+ regional US & international offices to build, deepen, and influence a diverse set of client relationships for engineering, environmental, energy, and valuation consulting services for global commercial real estate assets. With two decades of professional experience, he leverages his broad engineering and construction background to effectively navigate clients through commercial real estate asset lifecycle stages, from initial due diligence and design to development, construction risk management, ongoing maintenance and optimization, and disposition.
Brett has managed hundreds of lender and private equity commercial real estate transactions. On any given day, he supports diverse client needs such as lending institutions, developers, private equity investors, real estate investment trusts (REITs), facility owners, asset managers, attorneys, brokers, and non-profit and religious stakeholders. He has a penchant for supporting facility owners and occupiers with Facility Condition Assessments with a focus on asset data collection management, capital planning and budgeting, and engineering solutions.
Brett grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, and holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. He worked as a Design & Construction Project Manager with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) in Washington, DC, and a Sustainability Consultant with dbHMS in Chicago prior to joining Partner. He has called Chicago home for 10+ years and lives with his wife in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
