Partner provided the environmental due diligence for two developments intended to provide 170 affordable housing rental units for Kona families and seniors in Western Hawaii. The $52M developments are expected to finish construction and start moving in new residents by the end of next year, and are divided into two separate projects, which together make up the first phase of this planned community.
The first of the two projects will be the Hale Makana Ohana, a five-building, 85-unit development geared toward families, while the second, Hale Makana O Kupuna, will provide an additional 85 units for seniors.
Each development also will include laundry facilities and a single-story community center building. Affordable Housing in the Kona area relative to other areas of the Big Island, is a much-needed addition to this family-centric community.
